인터렉티브 조각악기 <Algaecoon Prototype: Luma>는 혐오의 대상인 녹조(시아노 박테리아)가 진화하여 인간과 함께 공생하는 새로운 생명체가 된 2300년의 미래 상황을 상상하는 것으로부터 출발한 작업이다.
작품은 빛, 습도, CO₂ 센서를 활용해 실시간 환경 데이터, 관객의 터치를 감지하고 이를 바탕으로 소리를 생성하는 인터랙티브 악기 시스템을 구현한다. 두 대의 악기는 서로 공명하도록 설계되었으며, 사운드는 기후위기로 사라진 장소에서의 필드레코딩, 녹조 DNA 염기서열을 음악으로 변환하는 기법을 적용해, 자연의 구조를 소리로 치환한다.

The interactive sound sculpture Algaecoon: Luma begins from a speculative scenario set in the year 2300, in which cyanobacteria — algae long regarded with revulsion — have evolved into a new life form living in symbiosis with humans.
The work is an interactive instrument system in which light, humidity, and CO₂ sensors register both real-time environmental data and the audience's touch, generating sound from these inputs. Two instruments are designed to resonate with each other; their sound draws on field recordings from sites soon to be lost to the climate crisis, alongside a technique that translates the DNA sequences of cyanobacteria into music — transposing the structures of nature into sound.

LUMA in Meta Microbiome City
LUMA in Meta Microbiome City는 2300년 미래를 배경으로 인간, 자연, 기술이 공존하는 새로운 생태계와 생명체를 상상하며, 기후변화의 문제를 인간, 비인간, 기술의 관계속에서 바라보는 프로젝트이다.
현재 기후위기의 징후로 점점 늘어나는 녹조(시아노 박테리아)를 공생의 대상으로 전환하여 미래를 상상한다. 작품은 녹조가 진화한 가상의 생명체 '루마(LUMA)'를 상상한다. 기술과 사운드를 통해 생명체와 환경, 관객이 상호공명하는 시스템을 구현하며, 테라리움은 루마의 서식지 역할을 한다. 내부에는 반려생물로서 루마가 살 법한 작은 집과 식물, 유기적 지형으로 미니 생태계가 조성되고, 루마는 이 환경의 미세한 변화를 실시간으로 수집한다. 수집된 환경 데이터는 루마의 목소리에서 추출한 사운드 레이어를 변조하며 관객의 터치와 조도와 연동되어 하나의 호흡처럼 겹쳐지는 장면을 만든다. 이를 통해 기후 변화 이후의 세계에서 인간과 비인간이 '터치'와 '소리'로 교감하는 새로운 공생 구조를 제시한다.
